The Album - Volume II

The second Album I created about my parent's lives.

What a gift to be able to look through the looking glass at snippets of my parents lives and to touch on the extraordinary strength and beauty of their marriage and life together.

It begins with the call for residents to Emigrate to New Zealand" to help populate the Colony.

The interceding pages tell the story of their journey and of them building a life in their new homeland. For them, there was no going back - and boy - did they make the most of their opportunity. Their work, their play, their faith, their friendships, their family...

Their togetherness was so complete, I spent a great deal of my childhood believing that "Mum&Dad" was one word -

It made sense that the final page of this album reflected this.

This page has a drawing of their aged hands together - a promise of their being together for eternity.
